Workshop

A few days ago there was a club workshop in the Primorska region of Slovenia. My friend Bojan with his gang did a great job finding a nice workshop area. Next to the workshop we had a small exhibition.
I must say the level of the trees we bring to such events is getting higher and higher!

I was working a little on my Prunus mahaleb. A few cuts here, a few cuts there...

STOLEN BONSAI

COPIED FROM A FRIEND'S BLOG (Tomaž Kovšca).

Last night this juniper was stolen from my yard.

Pot was broken, so the tree is bare-root and has no chance to survive. If you have any information, please contact me!

Work

After some time, once again I went to Tomaž's place yesterday where we worked on our trees. Tomaž was working on his scots, Miha was getting his Chamaecyparis ready for exhibition and Gašper was working on his spruce.

But I was making the most noise since I was working on the deadwood of my yew.

Getting ready

Next week I'm going to my next exhibition in Austria. This time I decided that I'll exhibit a more elegant composition. The tree is an Euonymus verrucosa.

Back to Italy

I begun my Wednesday morning with this scene at my house. Once again I was heading to Italy, but this time not for an exhibition. I have had this spruce for five years and never have I decided to style it. To me it was simply too big. So I decided to give it To Mauro Stamberger in exchange for another tree. But before I got to Italy I made a quick stop at my friend Bojan's place, with whom I also made a trade.

In Mauro's garden.

Yamadori area.

I came home with two great new trees:

Giareda

The past wekend me and a few of other Slovenian bonsai friends drove to Italy, near Bologna, where the local bonsai club Helen in colaboration with the bonsai school Progetto futuro organized an exhibition. Beside the exhibition there was a mass workshop of various artists and a few demos by italian instructors.
But before the expo in Friday we visited Enrico Savini and took a look at his great collection.

I was the only Slovenian who was also exhibiting two bonsai - two shohin. Here is the first; a black pine.

And here the second one, a chinese juniper which wan second prize.

PS: Roland was awarded top PF student of the year!! Congrats!
